I’m Marla Ottenstein, the owner of Professional Organizer Florida. I have been helping clients throughout Southwest Florida get organized since 2009. Downsizing & Move Management

Moving can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming—particularly when you’re moving from a larger home into a smaller one or making a major life transition.

As a Certified Move Manager, I can help you from the beginning of the process through the day you are settled into your new home. That may include deciding what to take, arranging for donations and other items to leave the home, preparing for the movers, packing, unpacking and organizing your new space.

For many of my Fort Myers clients, downsizing and moving are part of the same process. Having one person who can help coordinate all of the pieces makes the transition considerably easier.

I also assist clients who are consolidating two households, moving a parent, settling an estate or returning home following a renovation or restoration.

Organizing After a Hurricane or Home Renovation

Living in Southwest Florida sometimes means dealing with circumstances that can turn a well-organized home upside down.

After Hurricane Ian, I helped clients who were returning to homes after months of rebuilding and restoration. Others needed help sorting through belongings, unpacking hundreds of boxes and putting their homes back together.

If your home has been damaged, renovated or otherwise disrupted, I can help you sort through what remains, determine what belongs in the home and create order again.

Home Staging

When you’re preparing to sell a home, organization and presentation go hand in hand.

As a Certified Home Stager, I can help you declutter, edit your belongings and prepare your home so prospective buyers can see its possibilities. Sometimes a home simply needs a little editing; other times, a more extensive decluttering and downsizing project is appropriate.
